Converting to appliance distro

Hi there List members, Quick question I hope. I currently have an installation of OTRS 3.03 running on OSX leopard that we have been using for years. Are there any special consideration and methods to consider if I would like to migrate to the OTRS appliance installation. Would there be any suggestions on how I can upgrade and import the currently in place database to the appliance deployment?

I have install the appliance distro and ran into some problems restoring the "live" database. It appears that the "live" database is in SQL_ASCII encoding and the appliance distro is encoded to UTF8. And ideas on how I can convert the live database. Then upgrade it to the appliance version level? The appliance is likely to be at a 3.3.x version. You will need to upgrade
3.0-3.1.latest to 3.2.latest to 3.3.applianceversion
Read and follow UPGRADING or UPGRADING.MD for each version. There are
generally three database steps: an update to SQL, an update script and a
post ups to SQL. (written from memory. Docs trump what I say here)
MySQLdump will be ASCII for backup.

The "link" was an artifact of email clients attempting to hyperlink
automatically. The file itself exists in the root of each version as
appropriate for the version downloaded.
