Re: [otrs] Changing Admin Notification From fields

Jamie,
In the Config.pm file, set the admin email to what you want.
# Return Admin Email
$Self->{'AdminEmail'} = 'email@yourDomain.com';

Have a simple question.
When using Admin Notification and trying to send an e-mail, otrs returns the
following error:
ERROR: OTRS-CGI-10 Perl: 5.8.8 OS: MSWin32 Time: Wed Nov 12 21:48:01 2008
Message: Can't send message: 550Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>

What is the function of Admin Notification?
Why am I getting this error? Where is Net::SMTP and what to change to get
the debug info?
I supplied my own e-mail address in From field!
All other e-mail functions work fine. OTRS send mail out from the queues and
can receive in the queues!

While this is correct, the preferred method of changing OTRS configuration is from within OTRS itself. Go to Admin -> Sysconfig -> Framework -> Core There you'll find AdminEmail. Actually, SysConfig is also a great place to find out what configuration items to change. Just use the search box and OTRS will find relevant configuration items for you. -- Lars

Hello- I have added a new admin user but this user is not getting notified when a new ticket is created. If I send an email to this person from the Admin Notification page it he does receive it but the sender is the email account defined during the setup of OTRS and not from OTRS Notification Master which all other email notifications are from. What do I need to look at to correct this? Hi Jamie, When you go to that particular users preferences (admin console >> users >> select that user ). To bring up a list of users, put * in the search field, click enter. Click on that users name. In their preferences, there are settings to whether the user gets notification on ticket creation, updates, etc. Make sure that he is an agent of the queue the ticket is being created in. In the same place, you select which queue he is an agent of. If you want him to receive notification from all queues, select all of them. Let me know if that helps.
