I've opted to do a manual install of OTRS with ActivePerl on Windows. Are 2.3.4 and 2.4.x compatible with ActivePerl 5.10.0.1004?

Jeff,
Yes, OTRS 2.x is 'compatible' with ActivePerl 5.10 as that is 'just' a
binary distribution of Perl 5.10.
The only reason (as far as I know) that ActivePerl is no longer part of the
Windows installer but replaced with StrawberryPerl is because of licensing
issues. ActivePerl has a restrictive license and you can not include it into
your product without an agreement with ActiveState, their distributors. You
can, however, do a manual install with ActivePerl Perl and OTRS without
running into licensing trouble. (but please note I'm not a lawyer)...
StrawberryPerl is a community built Perl and can be distributed under a less
restrictive license.
Kind regards,

Hi, I think you need/best use ACL for that. http://faq.otrs.org/otrs/public.pl?Action=PublicFAQ&CategoryID=5&ItemID=68 Another option is to customize the code, but related to your problem I myself do not have experience. Perhaps someone else has done it before. gr, Frans From: otrs-bounces@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-bounces@otrs.org] On Behalf Of Luis Rodriguez Sent: dinsdag 12 mei 2009 00:20 To: User questions and discussions about OTRS. problem.
