Hello, everyone! I've installed OTRS in my company and the incoming e-mails get deleted after they're fetched. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? The manual doesn't address this issue and I'd like to keep a copy of all e-mails within the mailbox. Any help is appreciated, Harry Cruz Brazil

I've installed OTRS in my company and the incoming e-mails get deleted after they're fetched. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? In my system I created 2 mailboxes. Main one and backup one. OTRS is fetching mails only from first one. At the same time all emails coming to main account are forwarded [and not deleted] to the second one to have a copy. Best regards, Maciej

Thanks a lot folks for the answers!
Having a separate mailbox is a good way, but I thought there could a way to
"hack" PostmasterPOP3.pl so that it could just leave any mail received
there.
Has anyone got to do that?
Regards,
Harry

Then PostmasterPOP3.pl would have to check every mail in the mailbox against the database *every* time it checks the mailbox (every 10 minutes by default). Though maybe not impossible, this would be very inefficient and especially doesn't scale very nice. Nils Breunese.

You'll have to send another copy to a separate mailbox (using procmail for instance), because leaving them in the mailbox would get you a ticket for all the messages every time the mailbox is checked. Nils Breunese.
