In an experement, I removed all permissions from the faq_admin group from my user and tried to post another FAQ entry, and still receive the error "Error: Need CategoryID!", indicating that the problem is not permissions; but rather that no Category was selected. As I described in my OP, no category was selected, because the category dropdown box is empty, and I cannot locate within OTRS any place to add categories. There is no "Admin->FAQ". However, as an experiment, I took the URL for adding an FAQ Article: http://otrs.terraworld.net/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentFAQ&Subaction=Add and changed that to http://otrs.terraworld.net/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentFAQ&Subaction=Category and was greeted by the "FAQ Category" section, in which I can add Categories. I'm concerned why Admin->FAQ is not available, though. My server did the same. I rebooted it and FAQ showed up and I was actually able to use it like you are supposed to be able to. When I pasted your URL in, suddenly I have the "Language" and "Category" buttons!

Hi Nick, If you click on the FAQ button you should get some new buttons on top of the screen. Mine starts out (from left to right) with logout, explorer, new article and so on. If you click on the button 'category' you should see the FAQ category screen. Here you can add a new categories and manage existing categories.... Arnold.

In an experement, I removed all permissions from the faq_admin group from my user and tried to post another FAQ entry, and still receive the error "Error: Need CategoryID!", indicating that the problem is not permissions; but rather that no Category was selected.

As I described in my OP, no category was selected, because the category dropdown box is empty, and I cannot locate within OTRS any place to add categories.

So, my original question remains: Where do I add categories?
