Patch to allow non-standard SMTP port

Below is how to patch Kernel/System/Email/SMTP.pm 1.3 (as included in OTRS 1.1.1) to be able to use a non-standard port with the SMTP backend. You may then configure the port to use in Kernel/Config.pm like this: $Self->{'SendmailModule::Port'} = '2525'; Hopefully you will include this in the next release. Nice feature request: ability to do basic parsing of incoming email to detect spam etc.

It would be nice to enable the POP3 mail checker to do some basic spam checking. As an example, we use Spam Assassin, and it automatically puts the following header: X-Spam-Flag: YES Into any emails that it detects are spam. It would be nice if there was a config option somewhere for each pop mailbox, that I could do some basic filtering by headers, subject, body message, from/to/etc. to determine if I would like OTRS to accept the message or not, and if it does not accept, to just "delete" the messge from the POP3 box. Right now, sifting through the spam in our new OTRS install is a bit of a pain. Any ideas on how to add some basic perl code now to make this work? Or perhaps this feature is already implemented? create own variables in Config.pm

Hi all, i want use a selfcreated variable e.g. Self->{myownvariable}=something and use this in any .dtl e.g. AgentZoomStatus.dtl I tried to access the variable with $Config{"myownvariable"} with no success. can anyone give me a reason? whats the right way to use own variablenames? Claus

Hello everyone, I'm trying to to build a quick'n'dirty construct that allows an agent to create an ticket by creating an email. (the feature is on the todo-list for 1.2, but I would need it earlier) So I created a new Module celled AgentEmail.pm which is some sort of mix between AgentPhone.pm and AgentCompose.pm. An AgentEmail.dtl comes with it, as well as an entry in Kernel/Output/HTML/Agent.pm. Finally I included a use-line in the apache-parl-startup.pl script. The AgentEmail.pm works partly but I would like to know whether this is the right way to go, or if I'm possible modifying thing that rather remain untouched. Any comment would be welcome. If/when this works I can post it, but I clearly doubt that someone would like to see it included in the main code.... utf-8 support

Hi, JFYI. I added utf-8 frontend support to the CVS head. Perl min. 5.8 is required. -=> So you can view german, chinese, russian, ... tickets with one charset on one page. :) The utf-8 storage support (utf-8 database required) will follow soon.
