Manual ticket generation doesn't show up in queues

I have otrs set up on OS X and it appears to be working from the web interface except that I cannot get any tickets to show up. When I run the test where I cat a message into PostMaster.pl I get a response as follows but all queues still show zero items. The ticketID number increments each time I run the test. Is there something else needed to get the tickets to show up in otrs web pages ? additional to previous email The 'lost your password' functionality is on the customer login but only works with existing customers. Would it be possible to remove the customer choose password and have the system create the new account then post the password to the customers email address? Philippa

Greeting, I have setup otrs and its running. I have an inhouse authentication system used that I have integrated into otrs, but I am stumped on one last issue. I would like to use the encrypted system password for a user and use that as the password for otrs also. 1. Where is the salt defined? I see from the db that the first two characters of the username are used as the salt, but where is that configured? 2. Any suggestions on ways to accomplish this? Thank you in advance. Andrew

1.0.2 (and possibly earlier) Subject beginning with "re" is stripped from the customer interface.

Hi, In the customer interface, if a ticket is created where the first word starts with "Re" the subject line of the message is truncated in the my ticket display within the customer interface. For example, if you create a ticket with a subject of "Repeating my earlier concerns," it will appear in the customer interface as "peating my earlier concerns." I haven't really tested this thoroughly, but it appears that this isn't affected in email notifications or via the agent interface. Thanks, Paul

Messages not being removed from server

Hi, Having a problem with OTRS not removing messages from the POP server. When importing messages from the POP server, it sees them as new each time and creates a new ticket in the queue. Has anyone run into this before? I'm running 1.0.2 now but it also happened on RC2. Let me know if you need more details. Andre

Sorry I need to explain it better. A new customer wants to sign up He enters his details and chooses his own password There is no authentication of his email address however, if an existing customer forgets his password OTRS can generate one and send it to the email address What I want however is: A new customer wants to sign up He provides all his details and email address OTRS generates a password and sends it to customers email address This means that only the person entitled to use the email address will know the password Is there a way to adapt the lost password code so that a new password is generated for new customers? Running two versions of OTRS concurrently

Hi, I would like to upgrade to 1.0.2, but I am a little afraid of doing it without proper tests. Is it possible to install 1.0.2 in parallel to 1.0.1, under a different root? Like http://xxxx/otrs-1.0.2/ Regards, Moshe
