Hi all, This might be a silly question, but as we've been going through all the features in the OTRS interface, we can't seem to figure out what note-external and note-report do exactly. Can anyone give us a quick synopsis? Thanks, Paul

install problem with Digest::MD5

I'm Trying to install otrs in a redhat 7.1 system, it always give me an error wheni run "rpm -i otrs-1.0.1-01.i386.rpm" the error is "error: failed dependencies: perl-Digest-MD5 is needed by otrs-1.0.1-01" I have checked and I have installed the Digest::MD5 package, any help in this matter would be appreciated. Questions

Couple of questions as well: 1) If I generate or create a ticket via 'PhoneView', it correctly assigns me ownership of the ticket, but does not lock it. Is there any way I can default the 'PhoneView' ticket generation behavior to auto-lock? 2) What does the 'Select Box' section do? 3) Do we have the ability to remove unnecessary Charsets from the system? Feature requests

These are 1.1 Feature requests: 1) How about an Attachment <--> Response relationship screen link off the main page. When you create an attachment, the next screen you jump to is the Attachment <--> Response relationship screen, but I don't see a way to get there unless you make another attachment. 2) Navigation: The words top and end might be more explicative if they said: "Top of Page" and "Bottom of Page". hi jorge, check your rpm database. maybe there isn't a correct entry. Try to uninstall the md5 and install it again. ignore some adresses

Hi, I would like to be able do ignore some email adresses, like "big(a)boss.com" (very nerving) and "MAILER-DAEMON@[MyDomain]" - It's really not needed to create a ticket for them... ;) Is there a way to do this? The other thing, I have one Queue called "Spam" where I put all spam mails and the ones above. It's ab bit nerving that it's blinking and so on and there's too much in it to close every ticket... is there a way to simply hide that queue on top? Thank you :) CU GameCrash

installation probz

I'm trying to setup OTRS on a slack 8.1 system with apache and mysql. I got through the installation ok so it seemed, but whenever I try to access index.pl I get the error 500 message. Tailing the logfile for apache I get this: [Tue Feb 11 20:13:05 2003] [error] install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't locate DBD/mysql.pm in @INC (@INC contains: ../../ /usr/local/src/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/../../Kernel/cpan-lib /usr/local/src/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/../.. /usr/lib/perl5/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl . /usr/local/apache/ /usr/local/apache/lib/perl /usr/local/src/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/../.. /usr/local/src/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/../../Kernel/cpan-lib) at (eval 9) line 3. Perhaps the DBD::mysql perl module hasn't been fully installed, or perhaps the capitalisation of 'mysql' isn't right. Available drivers: ExampleP, Proxy. at /usr/local/src/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/../../Kernel/System/DB.pm line 77 The build dir for .cpan is in my home directory, which is not in the @INC path. I was thinking that adding that path to @INC might fix my problem. However I don't really know how to do that. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks! dylan

Allowing the client to close a ticket

Hi all, We have noticed that sometimes the client wish to close the ticket on his own (i.e he found the problem). The customer screens does not give it a way of doing this. Also, there is not way for the customer to "hide" or delete old tickets that he is not interested in anymore. Have I missed anything? Regards, Moshe
