ArticleStorageInit error

Hi all, I just installed otrs RC1 on my system. When I visit http://www.domain.com/otrs/index.pl I get a 500 server error. When I manually run <OTRSHOME>/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl I get the following error: Can't locate object method "ArticleStorageInit" via package "Kernel::System::Ticket" (perhaps you forgot to load "Kernel::System::Ticket"?) at /home/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/../../Kernel/System/Ticket.pm line 96. Seems like a bug to me, but to be sure if I'm not the one to blaim here I like to know if there's someone who knows a solution to this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Maarten

Install Problems

We are running FreeBSD 4.6 web05# uname -a FreeBSD web05.expnet.net 4.6-STABLE FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE We have downloaded (otrs-0.5-BETA8.tar) and we are following the steps in the INSTALL file and here what we get.. Step 1. Install all the perl mods / Done Good Check if all needed modules are installed: ------------------------------------------ $shell:~> perl -cw /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl syntax OK $shell:~> perl -cw /opt/OpenTRS/bin/PostMaster.pl /opt/OpenTRS/bin/PostMaster.pl syntax OK $shell:~> If you get "syntax OK" it seems to be Ok. Go ahead. Well when we run (perl -cw /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl) this is what we get.. web05# perl -cw /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl syntax error at /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/../../Kernel/Config.pm line 539, near "$_;" BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl line 48. and (perl -cw /opt/OpenTRS/bin/PostMaster.pl) web05# perl -cw /opt/OpenTRS/bin/PostMaster.pl syntax error at /opt/OpenTRS/bin/..//Kernel/Config.pm line 539, near "$_;" BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /opt/OpenTRS/bin/PostMaster.pl line 41. This may be something stupid, But please forgive us we are not Unix programmers but we are trying. Thanks for any help you can offer. -Brian

When logging a phone message I get the following error: Software error at /opt/otrs/Kernel/..../DateChecksum.pm What does it mean? greetz Hans --

Session Management OTRS0.5Beta8

Hi Martin, I have instaled Redhat 7.3 and otrs0.5 Beta8 I have the following config.pm (See attached file: Config.pm) I have the following session.pm (See attached file: Session.pm) If I'm loged as customer or agent and I close the internet explorer, without logout, when I open another internet explorer, and look at Session Managment, I can see three sessions running, But I noticed that after some time (more or less two hours) they disappeared from that page. How does sessions works at OTRS? I want to know if sessions remain opened, won't the system become slower each time a session is opened? Thanks. Diego.

Error after Update to RC1

Hello, I just updated from beta8 to RC1. Every thing seems to work well. I can open new tickets and an autoresponse is sent back to the sender. But if I try to answer the ticket, I get the following error: Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /opt/otrs//Kernel/Output/HTML/Agent.pm line 1138. Any ideas? OTRS with Apache2 + mod_perl-2 (mod_perl-1.99_07 / Beta)

Has anyone successfully gotten OTRS to work with Apache2 + mod_perl-2 (mod_perl-1.99_07)? I've finally conquered one problem and hit another. The first problem I had was not being able to run installer.pl. The error_log reported the following: [Thu Jan 02 16:55:37 2003] [error] 27204: ModPerl::Registry: Can't locate Kernel/Config.pm in @INC (@INC contains: //../..m /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/installer.pl line 39. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/installer.pl line 39. If you look in this message the first include path is //../.. which is being returned from the following in installer.pl: # OTRS root directory use FindBin qw($Bin); use lib "$Bin/../.."; The 'use lib' statement is setting //../.. instead of /opt/OpenTRS/bin/cgi-bin/../.. which seems to me that mod_perl is thinking that the perl script is running from / to the webserver. So to combat this I tried hard-coding an include path in perlstart.pl that I'm calling in PerlRequire in httpd.conf which seems to make it find Kernel/Config.pm but now fails with the following: [Fri Jan 03 14:38:14 2003] [error] 14175: ModPerl::Registry: Can't read ../../Kernel/Output/HTML/Standard/Header.dtl: No such file or directory at /opt/OpenTRS//Kernel/Output/HTML/Generic.pm line 193. I'm assming the same problem with the @INC issue is the same ../../ problem. Can anyone help me? Cronjobs
