problems with receiving emails

Hey everyone, for some reason I don't receive anymore emails in my queues. I had everything running fine, but now the emails are not moved into the queues correctly. I have the correct settings for the pop3 accounts and the system actually receives the emails. I know this since the pop3 accounts are empty even though I sent an email to them. The pop3 accounts are working because if I directly check them after I sent an email to them, the email is there. Then OTRS receives the emails. I know this since Norton Antivirus comes up and scans the incoming mail. For a while I thought Norton deletes the email, but after I turned Norton off I still have the same problem. I can search for the mails, but can't find them. It seems as OTRS deletes the email directly after it received it. Is this a bug of OTRS 1.1.3 or have I just forgotten about some settings? sending emails without a local Mail Server

Hey guys, I already have an Mercury Server/Mercury SMTP Client(relay version) running in my network. I would like to use this server instead of adding an local email server. Is this possible? I changed my settings in the config.pm file, but that doesn't work. $Self->{'SendmailModule::Host'} = '192.168.201.1'; $Self->{'SendmailModule::Port'} = '25'; $Self->{'SendmailModule::AuthUser'} = 'test'; $Self->{'SendmailModule::AuthPassword'} = 'test'; I am always getting this error and I don't know what to do know. SMTP authentication failed! Enable debug for more info! Malformed multipart POST

Hi: I am using otrs 1.2.1 and some times i get the error "Malformed multipart POST" lossing the response writen to a ticket., i have some users who want to kill me for that. The error was also on version 1.1.3 and i did hope not to see again on version 1.2.1 but that´s not true. I do a little search at google and found that seems to be a problem with some version of CGI.pm . I upgrade that at the system before check that otrs have a copy of that. So now i upgrade also the otrs copy of CGI.pm and until now i did not see again that error. Maybe somebody else get that error and if is better not to include CGI.pm on the package and use from system. But at least the otrs copy of CGI.pm must be upgrade. Create a new theme..

FYI. I noticed there is a typo error in the OTRS CVS manual : 16.3. Create a new theme To create a new theme, create a new theme directory (mkdir ~otrs/Kernel/Output/HTML/NewTheme/). Copy an existing theme into the new directors (cp ~otrs/Kernel/Output/HTML/Standart/*.dtl ~otrs/Kernel/Output/HTML/NewTheme/). Modify the dtl files like you want. Add a new database entry for this theme. You have to do this via SQL. shell:~> mysql -u root -psome-pass otrs Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 1 to server version: 3.23.48-log Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> INSERT INTO theme -> (theme, valid_id, create_by, change_by, change_time) -> VALUES -> ('NewTheme', 1, 1, 1, current_timestamp); mysql> Ready. Goto the preferences page and change your theme. If you want to use your new theme as default theme (login, ...), add the following config option to your Kernel/Config.pm. $Self->{DefaultTheme} = 'NewTheme'; for 1.2.1: mysql> INSERT INTO theme -> (theme, valid_id, create_time, create_by, change_time, change_by) -> VALUES -> ('NewTheme', 1, current_timestamp, 1, current_timestamp, 1); Regards, Thau.

I use: System: RedHat 9.0 MySQL: 3.23.54a-11 Apache: 2.0.40-21 OTRS: 1.2.1-01 When I set $Self->{DefaultCharset} = 'utf-8'; and go to URL http://my_web)host/otrs/index.pl I receive a mistake Server error! The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Error message: Usage: Apache::RequestRec::BINMODE(r) at /opt/otrs//Kernel/System/Encode.pm line 224. Nice new rich feature, otrs1.2.1! Thanks very much for developers effort. One question. At the top of the AdminCustomerUser form , "Select source" appear. What is this? In my test site, only 'No name'. What does the word 'source' mean? Thanks. Shozo

Apache::Reload: Can't locate /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i586-linux-thread-multi/DBD/mysql.pm

Just got 1.2 installed on SuSE Linux 8.0 with Apache 2.0.048, MySQL 4.0.18, and Perl 5.8.0. This keeps showing up in my otrs log: [Wed Feb 18 08:42:50 2004] -e: Apache::Reload: Can't locate /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i586-linux-thread-multi/DBD/mysql.pm However, the file is there and looks just fine: # ls -l /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i586-linux-thread-multi/DBD/mysql.pm -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 47766 Oct 26 21:26 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i586-linux-thread-multi/DBD/mysql.pm The contents of mysql.pm list it as version 2.9003. In addition, I am able to login and use the system. Any ideas what's causing this message? Thanks, Jason Joines ===========

LDAP Groups

I got User LDAP authentication working. Anyone who could authenticate to my directory could login. However, I need to restrict it so I created a group in the directory: dn: cn=otrs,dc=mydomain,dc=org objectClass: posixGroup gidNumber: 523 cn: otrs description: People in Support Services, etc., who can use OTRS memberUid: jo memberUid: don memberUid: sam Then I modified the Kernel/Config.pm file and added: $Self->{'AuthModule::LDAP::GroupDN'} = 'cn=otrs,dc=mydomain,dc=org'; $Self->{'AuthModule::LDAP::AccessAttr'} = 'memberUid'; Then, jo, don, and sam along with everyone else were no longer able to log in. The error in the log is: User: jo login failed, no LDAP group entry foundGroupDN='cn=otrs,dc=mydomain,dc=org', Filter='(memberUid=uid=jo,dc=mydomain,dc=org)'! (REMOTE_ADDR: 172.16.9.159).
