Is there a limit to the number of unique ticket numbers that can be generated by the AutoIncriment ticket number generator? I remember reading something about it, but I can't find what i read now. Mike

Bulk action for the tickets returned post normal search....is this possible?

Hi All, I have a query. Hoping that you guys can provide some info..Straight to the point... My question is : Why is it that there is no bulk selection facility (check box as is present for all the tickets in queue view) present for the tickets that are returned by search facility of otrs? Is it possible to add this bulk action to the search returned tickets? Will this addition, of bulk facility post search, and its induced operation impact,albiet wrongly, the tickets current stand-in operations. In short, can you list some problems,if any, that can occur if this bulk facility is extended to tickets that are returned post normal search. Please respond. Multiple system interaction

Does anyone in the group have multiple OTRS systems that interact with each other? If so give an example of how it is set up. Currently I have two systems in my enterprise and I was having hell making the two systems share tickets. Originally I had the tickets set up identically except for the system ID example (Ticket# 20071005102127 system ID is 10) and (Ticket 200710051226 system ID is 12). I would create a ticket in one system and send an email to the other system through composing an email from the ticket itself. This would create a new ticket on the other system. (All is well). When I tried to respond to the originating system from the newly generated ticket, instead of appending the original ticket it would create a new ticket. I found that system ID served no purpose. I had to completely change the ticket hook from Ticket# to something like NYTicket# 20071005102127 and LATicket# 200710051226. Only after this change could I append tickets back and forth between both systems. If any one knows of a better more efficient way to have multiple systems interact with each other, please feel free to lay it out

Install problem

Hi, I've just made a clean install of Fedora 8 on a new server with 2GB RAM and 400GB hard Drive. Installed apache, mysql etc. Downloaded and installed all the patches, Downloaded the Fedora rpm of OTRS followed all the instructions and when I get to the last instruction which is to connect to the URL and enter root@localhost with password root. I get Internal Server Error The error log says "attempt to free unreferenced scalar" What have I done wrong /not done / whatever????

Most efficient way to use OTRS With MS Exchange

Does anyone know of the most efficient way to use OTRS with MS Exchange. I would like to be able to alert my co workers when a new work order appears over email. I have looked through a lot of the documentation and I am not quite sure where to look. Right now I have OTRS configured to authenticate users using LDAP through a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory. Any help is appreiciated. Justin

Definitions for LDAP Authentication

Here is the story so far, I followed how to in the OTRS manual for how to set up LDAP to play nicely with Windows Active Directory. I just need to know if I provide you guys with the information for our configuration, can you tell me what the things like what BaseDN and ou can dc should be. Here is my information: Active Directory Server is @ 10.0.0.41 Active Directory's host name is: vdp-dc-003 Domain or Forest everyone is under is: VERNON_FR OTRS Active Directory User is: otrs_ldap OTRS Active Directory Password is: (You could just put stars so I know where to put it) Any help is greatly appreciated :-)

Host-based theming and automation

Does anyone have experience with this? Also, does anyone use scripts (sql and otherwise) to set up new users and queues in their otrs environment? Please, some one, let me know that this e-mail got through. I've been having trouble submitting stuff to this list as I believe it falls off into the great bit-bucket in the sky. Thanks!
