notification to agents

Hello, We wants to know when a new ticket is created. So every time a ticket is created we want to see an email in an email box. We already assigned personal queues to agents and activated notification on new ticket, but we don't get a notification. Can someone help me?? Kind regards, Roel Niesen

Migrating from Server A to Server B

Hi all , I'm sure this question has been asked (and I have serched the lists and got the answer) , I just want to confirm if it is the right way. Basically I want to move my system over to a more redundant system (Raid) , do I simply do a mysqldump of the database and then upload that to the new server? Will it be possible to use the backup/restore script provided to restore the various files onto the new server? Basically I want to run the backup script on Server A , and then copy those files over to Server B and run a restore on Server B. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I believe that's key. Make sure you set it up as an Internet Site that sends and receives mail itself. I'm sure there is someone on this list that understands mail routing more than I that can give some insight. It must be an exim configuration but I'm suprised there is nothing in /var/log/exim4/mainlog One of the first thing I did when I installed OTRS on Debian was to install postfix which removes exim, only because I know a little about postfix and nothing about exim. Package Manager Error

I've just installed otrs and everything is working fine EXCEPT that I get the following error when I click on the link for the Package Manager: Software error: ERROR: Need write permission in OTRS home Try: $OTRS_HOME/bin/SetPermissions.sh !!! I've run SetPermissions.sh and it doesn't help. I successfully ran Package Manager once (though I didn't actually install any packages). Now all I get is the error. In the system log, I see the following line: OTRS-CGI-10 Can't write file /opt/otrs///check_permissons.20334: Permission denied! Any suggestions as to what file/folder is having the problem? Thanks.

custom sorting of tickets

I'm thinking about using OTRS for a client's site. One of the features I absolutely need is the ability to sort all of my tickets into the exact order I want. I know a lot of systems only allow you to specify a few priority levels and then sort tickets by those levels.
