We are proud to announce OTRS::ITSM 1.0.4 (Whitehaven Beach)
today. This is a patch level release of stable OTRS::ITSM 1.0.,
and contains some bug fixes. For a complete list see below.
The OTRS team recommends all OTRS::ITSM 1.0.x users to upgrade
to OTRS::ITSM 1.0.4.
OTRS::ITSM 1.0 is the first ITIL compliant IT service management
solution on open-source basis. It is built on the solid
fundament of 49,000 known OTRS installations in 22 languages.
OTRS::ITSM 1.0.4 requires the installation of the Open Ticket
Request System OTRS version 2.2.4. All functionalities
known from OTRS continue to be available and the functionalities
representing ITIL processes can be installed as packages.
The release of OTRS 2.2.4 is published simultaneously to
OTRS::ITSM 1.0.4.

mask if a LDAP backend was used.

Wed like to inform you about a know error identified within the
OTRS 2.2.3 release. On Unix / Linux systems running OTRS 2.2.3
that known error causes memory to 'disappear', the system might
freeze, load increases or error messages like "No free space left
on device" might pop up. Note, windows users are not affected.

Due to a bug in the log backend of OTRS 2.2.3 the shared memory
of the system is filled with entries which are not freed
anymore. You can check your system with the command:
ipcs
Use it as root to display your system's ipc facilities:
# ipcs

If you see entries starting with "0x00000000" your system is
affected by the memory leak in the Log backend and you are
strongly advised to address this issue as described below.
SOLUTION 1:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
To solve the problem download the attached Log.pm file and
copy it into the Kernel/System directory or your OTRS
installation, replacing the existing file. You need to restart
your Web server for the change to become effective.
Note:
Use the linked file in the Public FAQ: # 4200252 only for OTRS version
2.2.3. This is the only release having this particular problem.
